Ladies and Gentleman, Boys and Girls, Madams and Monsieurs,
WELCOME.

For those of you first experiencing Vince Germain, let me just say,
you are in for a treat. Back in the 60’s, my parents use to send me
to summer in the Hamptons with my Grandfather “Pappie” Joe. I
chuckle now, when I think of the dread I felt the first summer I went
to stay with the mentholyptus drenched octogenarian. But then one
night he sat me down on his knee, and opened an old leather
volume filled with newspaper clippings of Hollis Janning’s great
cartoon detective - Vince Germain.

I couldn’t get enough of those 1940’s classics. Hot summer night
after hot summer night was spent memorizing each heart-racing
tale. And by day, by Gods, I was Vince Germain - fighting the Nazis,
outwitting the Japanese and looking for the legendary Golden Scarab.

Pappie has longs since passed. But now, thanks to the American Cartoonist Historical Society, we are proud to present the new and
further adventures of Vince Germain. After an exhaustive search,
talented newcomer Charlie Stickney was chosen to pick up the
bush. Charlie has been given access to the entire Hollis Janning
estate; sketches, old manuscripts... the works. And from the
samples I’ve been privileged to see, I can tell you the future of Vince
Germain is in good hands.

So sit back and enjoy, this one’s for you Pappie.
